I Have Never Paid To Record A Song – Kweku Darlington Reveals

Rising Ghanaian artistes, Kweku Darlington, has made an interesting revelation about his recordings.

Speaking in an interview with MC Kiki on Afro614 Radio  ‘Afro Drive’ in the United States of America, the ‘Sika Aba Fie’ composer disclosed that he has never paid to record a song.

He explained that he does not pay physical money to the producers who record his songs.

Kweku detailed that his deal with these producers is like barter trading.

He recalled cleaning the studios of some producers who recorded his songs.

When asked to mention some of the songs that he did not pay for after recording, he retorted that these songs were recorded years ago—when he was not known in the Ghanaian music industry.

Kweku Darlington recalled he was putting the songs in WhatsApp groups without doing any massive promotions.

Talking about his recent recordings, the young Ghanaian musician revealed he mostly does the recordings himself before sending them to other sound engineers to complete.

His revelation was on the back of Appietus' claim that Ghanaian music group, 5Five, did not pay him when he produced their monster hit song ‘Muje Baye’.
