New Jersey councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour shot and killed


A Ghanaian born GOP Councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour, 30, fatally shot in car outside her New Jersey home. The gunmen fired 12 bullets and police do not yet have a motive.

Newark Star-Ledger: A Republican city councilwoman was fatally shot in her car outside her home in New Jersey on Wednesday night in what police believe was a planned attack.

Police in Sayreville, N.J., responded to a 911 call reporting gunshots and they found an unresponsive woman with multiple gunshot wounds in her Nissan SUV just outside her townhouse. The gunmen was waiting and began to fire as she was attempting to park her car. 

Eunice Dwumfour, was active in the local clergy, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police believe Dwumfour was the intended target but the motive remains unclear. 

No arrests have been made. Residents said they saw the person they believed to be the gunman running toward the Garden State Parkway, which is not far from the scene of the shooting.
