The founder of Perez Chapel International, Archbishop Charles Agyin Asare during his crusade made a statement that, " Nogokpo is the headquarters for satanic forces." He said this because he encountered spiritual attack in the area thereby describing the community as the headquarters of satanic forces. He was summoned by the traditional leaders of Nogokpo to say he is sorry and that the statement was not an attack on their personality. However, Archbishop Charles Agyin Asare has not honoured their summons.
The Spokesperson for Nogokpo, Nufialagah Mawufemor Kobla Nornyigbey in an interview disclosed that, Archbishop Charles Agyin Asare is powerless.
He further stated that;
"Agyin Asare is trying to show his powerful nature to his congregants but trust me, Archibishop Agyin Asare is powerless.” “I am telling you on authority. His congregants can believe him because they are part of the church but on our side he is powerless.”
Apostle Bright Sosu who is the Ashanti Regional Chairman for Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council stated that Archbishop Charles Agyin Asare never attacked personalities in the comments he made about Nogokpo community. He added that, it will be prudent to honour their summons for the sake of peace and out of respect. A lot of prominent individuals have shared their opinions on the issue. While some said he should go and meet the Traditional leaders of Nogokpo, others discouraged him from going.
