Asante Kotoko midfielder Richmond Lamptey has completed his move to Rwandan Premier League side Armee Patriotique Rwandaise Football Club (APR FC) on a two-year deal.
The 27-year-old has been a key player for the Porcupine Warriors since joining in 2021 from Inter Allies, helping the team win the Ghana Premier League title in his debut season.
Despite struggling with injuries and setbacks in the recently concluded season, Lamptey still managed to make 17 league appearances and provide five assists for Kotoko.
The experienced midfielder has also represented Ghana at the international level, being part of the Black Stars’ final squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire.
His departure from Kotoko marks the end of a three-year stint with the club, and he will now look to bring his creative spark to APR FC as they aim to achieve success in the Rwandan Premier League.
