Lee Addy breaks the silence on his failed move to Hearts of Oak, discloses unpleasant words Akambi told him

Former Black Stars of Ghana defender Lee Addy has opened up on his unsuccessful move to Accra Hearts of Oak.

Addy had agreed to make a return to the local league prior to the start of the 2020/21 GPL, having trained with the Phobians following his departure from Free State FC of Ethiopia but the deal broke down in a dramatic fashion.

According to him, the deal was almost done but the club’s former board member, Alhaji Akambi acted unprofessionally after disclosing to him that he can not feature for the Rainbows should he signed despite three days left to close the transfer window.

“I prefered to play because this is what I can give back to the community so that the young ones will learn from us but personally I wasn’t happy with the words that came from Akambi and I decided not join them again,” Lee Addy told Ghanasportspage.com.

“I had trained with them for two to three months and Nyaho Tamakloe encouraged me to push the boys but Akambi later told me I will not be able to play because my ITC wasn’t in Ghana which I didn’t understand.

“It was between me and the club, and I wasn’t happy. The negotiations didn’t well,’ he added.

Lee Addy played for Berekum Chelsea in Ghana before traveling abroad.

After a fine showing for the Black Stars at the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations in Angola and the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, the Accra-born joined Serbian side Red Star Belgrade.
